Salolampi Finnish Courses (online and in-person)

Salolampi Finnish Language Village in the North Woods of Minnesota has programs for children, youth, families, and adults. See for more information on the various programs, scholarships, and the Salolampi Foundation.

Join us for our first-ever, extended weekend for adults, Thursday to Monday, Sept. 12-16, 2024, at Salolampi Finnish Language Village near Bemidji, Minnesota. This weekend is perfect for those who work full-time or who are in school, as well for as our faithful retired participants. We start Thursday evening and end Monday midday. We will have language classes each full day for almost 4 hours, as well as singing, dancing, games, movies, conversation, baking, shopping, Nordic stick-walking, Finnish crafts, sports, sauna, and, of course, plenty of delicious Finnish food. Our language teachers will be Kirsi Ritosalmi-Kisner, Tiina Mäkelä (both Finns) and me. Jazz performer, Juli Wood, with her ensemble will be entertaining us with a concert and music for dancing Saturday and Sunday evening. Email for more information.
