My online Finnish classes will resume the week of September 14, 2026, with a discussion class, as well as 4 levels of language and culture classes taught from the Suomen mestari series of books by Sonja Gehring and Sanni Heinzmann.

My online discussion classes are a fun way to practice your Finnish. Some students take one (or more) Suomen mestari classes and a discussion class. Discounts are available for multiple classes. Speaking abilities range from a mid-novice (beginner) level to advanced.

Our theme will be Finnish food and nature. Each week we learn a bit about the day’s topic, practice some vocabulary and grammar, then spend a lot of time in breakout rooms and as a group discussing the topic. Tule keskustelemaan!

Payment for all of my classes will be through Venmo (@Tiina-Watts), Paypal, or Square (added fee of $5). Each 10-week class will cost $150, but if you enroll in 2 classes or multiple family members take a class, the cost is $125. 3 classes are $100 each.
You will order your own book Suomen mestari book.
The discussion class is 1 hour and the Suomen mestari classes are 1 hour and 10 minutes each week on Zoom. Homework outside of class will be 1-2 hours–or more if you wish. The Suomen mestari classes will be a mix of textbook exercises and my own curriculum ideas to supplement the text–videos, games, songs, culture, stories, listening exercises, and a lot of speaking practice as a group and in breakout rooms.
I have included the table of contents from the Suomen mestari books below so that you can see which one would be most interesting and applicable to your language-learning needs.
